Insider's Guide to Writing Space Opera

Writing Successful Space Opera

You want to write science fiction that spans galaxies, but you don't even know where to begin.

And what is space opera exactly.

Writing successful space opera takes certain skills that can be learned, but first you have to know what skills you need to hold readers in your stories. This workshop will help you learn and understand the skills.

This workshop gives you the confidence to tackle the galaxy-spanning project.

Kris and I both write a lot of space opera. We started with Star Trek and have written many different series from there. Kris writes her award-winning Diving into the Wreck series and her also award-winning Retrieval Artist series. I have not only written for many gaming worlds, but I have a space opera series of my own called The Seeders Series.

The most difficult part of space opera is making the world, the massive universe understandable to readers. How to do that will be one focus of this workshop. We will also touch on the nature of series writing, since most space opera takes books to develop fully.

Writing space opera is great fun. If you have been afraid of tackling that large project, this workshop is for you.
