Insider's Guide to Writing Serial Fiction

How to Write Successful Serial Fiction

Serial Fiction made a comeback with indie publishing. Readers like reading in segments on their phones or pads if the story holds them.

And sites now publish serial fiction, charging readers by the installment and making writers even more money.

But a better reason to learn the techniques of writing serial fiction goes to helping keep readers in your regular novels.

This workshop covers the techniques that are required in writing successful serial fiction.

Even though serial fiction lost popularity as I came into writing forty years ago, I still loved it and wrote many, many novels in a serial form over the decades, practicing the techniques needed to hold readers from segment to segment in a story.

In fact, as I write this, my newest novel, Marble Grant, was written completely in short story serial form.

This workshop keeps the focus on the techniques of writing serial fiction, including what types of story work best in serial form.
